Saturday April 11, 2026 is the Wheatland Fire Dept Pork Chop dinner and fundraiser. Starts at 4:00 pm. We will be holding it a RETREAT SPORTSMAN'S CLUB so we can accommodate more parking. Raffle Tickets are available. If you would like to donate a basket or item let us know (very much appreciated). FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Vernon County Emergency Management to Conduct System-Wide Test of Everbridge Mass Notification System Viroqua, WI –Vernon County Emergency Management will conduct a system-wide test of the Everbridge Mass Notification System on Wednesday April 8th, 2026, at 6pm. This test is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure that residents receive timely and accurate information during emergencies. The Everbridge system is designed to quickly deliver critical alerts and instructions to the public through multiple channels, including phone calls, text messages, emails, and apps. This is only a test. No action is required by the public. Phones calls will come from 608-637-5399. You are encouraged to save this number in your contacts to ensure you receive alerts. Residents who are already registered will receive the test message. We are bringing in another large dumpster for your larger items that do not fit or qualify to be in our regular dumpster in standard garbage bags. Once this dumpster is full, we will not accept any other items. To help cover the cost, there will be fees associated with items placed in the dumpster not regularly there for our standard waste. Cash Only We do not take the following items NO building materials other than a board or two.
